Presidents Welcome

Dear Members,

Here we are, 2012, Year of the Dragon. Eastern philosophy regards the dragon positively, the supreme beast, fearless, wise and master over all, so with this as a guide. 2012 is going to be an amazing year for Golden Key, we have the Asia Pacific Conference Feb 2-4 in Melbourne, the International Conference in 26-29 July and a multitude of events being run on campus to our members and non-members.

Part of this years goals is to actively engage all members,as such we will be running events that cater to your needs. We plan on having social events as well as professional development events and are looking into linking up with other guilds/clubs at Griffith over all campus's.

One of the exciting things for this year will be, the creation of a QLD alliance for Golden Key. Currently we are in negatiation with QUT and with thier president (Lauren) we hope to achieve an alliance for QLD and build larger networks for all members.

Current News

Mentoring is a large part of what Golden Key can offer back to the community. At this point in time, we are seeking members who would like to learn more and assist with the mentoring program. The more partaking in this event, the better it will be. Contact Cassie at communityservicebrisbane@griffithgoldenkey.org to find out how you can assist in this amazing program.

The Asia Pacific conference is underway next week, we are sending a delegation to represent Griffith University and it's many achievements over the past year and to promote the university to our region. For those attending there is an application for funding to help ease some of the cost of the conference. Send your application stating why you are going, what you will get out of it and how you use the information to the president(president@griffithgoldenkey.org). Your application will then be put to a selection committee and determined for compensation.
